  • This year has been extremely difficult for our colleagues - many working extra hours under the worst circumstances to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. Many have been sacrificing time with their own families and their personal lives to care for others in need.

Earlier this year, when COVID-19 first struck, Nurses House partnered with the American Nurses Foundation to establish a coronavirus fund for nurses. I’m proud to report that, together with ANF, Nurses House provided grants totaling almost $3 million in aid to 2,417 nurses across the country affected with the virus.

Although we are all extremely proud of this accomplishment, and the number of nurses we helped, our team couldn’t have done it without ANF and your very generous donations. Although the COVID-19 fund closed in mid-July, Nurses House is still facing an unprecedented number of applications for assistance from our general fund and the need is great. Through this fund, we are providing aid to nurses facing a variety of health issues, as always, as well as those infected with COVID-19 and those who are suffering its long-lasting effects.

Together we can ensure that every nurse, whether he or she is affected by COVID-19 or is otherwise ill or injured, has the resources they need to get by until they are able to return to the workplace. Lifting the financial burden that accompanies illness is so crucial and means so much to those we help. If you are able to donate $100, $50 or even $10 it would make a big difference in the life of a colleague who is struggling.

Thank you for your generosity and I hope you have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season.

In Support of Nurses House, Inc
Nurses House is the only national organization offering assistance to RN's who are struggling due to their health and financial situation. Nurses House is run by nurses and funded by donations from nurses and the nursing community. Assistance is rendered to those who qualify on a short term basis to help with basic necessary expenses such as rent or mortgage payments and medical needs. The service is a vehicle for nurses to give and receive help from their fellow colleagues and is truly "nurses helping nurses."
